A man whose name could not be identified caused a commotion in court after being heard asking the judges to listen to him, claiming that he had been sent by God.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m., shortly after the judges had entered the courtroom where the treason case involving CHADEMA Chairman Tundu Lissu was in progress.
HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED:
Everyone in the courtroom was quiet as the accused, Lissu, was brought in by prison officers, as per procedure. Moments later, a panel of three judges—led by Judge Dastan Ndunguru and accompanied by Judges James Karayemaha and Ferdinand Kiwonde—entered the courtroom.
Just as the judges had taken their seats, a voice was heard from the upper section of the courtroom saying, “Honorable Judges of this Court, please listen to me—I have been sent by God.” As he continued speaking, police officers quickly rushed upstairs to remove him.
However, the man resisted being taken out, insisting that he wanted to speak. The officers were eventually forced to carry him out by force as he shouted, “Jesus help me… Jesus help me.”
